Rene Torres

I'm the director and owner of Los Amiguitos. I come from a large blended family. I am a father, husband, teacher, son, brother, and friend. These are the things that matter most to me. I try to be as patient, loving, caring, understanding, and above all empathetic in my daily interactions with those around me. I have been happily married to my amazing wife Eloisa. We have 3 awesome children Rafael, Myla, and our youngest Sandra. When my son was born in 2007 I worked at an In-home daycare in South St. Paul, Minnesota. I spent the entire 1st year of my son's life really experiencing fatherhood. A time in my life that I truly cherish. Waking up in the morning, getting my son ready for the day, driving across the metro to the daycare I was employed at and interacting with my child and other children... are some of my fondest memories. I had to seek employment elsewhere as my family was growing and I needed to increase my earning power to provide for my family. Over the next few years I found success financially, but realized how much time I was away from the things that mattered most to me. I always enjoyed working with children and I decided that it was time to come back home per se. I believe in healthy, nurturing, safe environments that allow children to experience education that meets their needs individually. I hope to always be a positive influence and a healthy role model in the lives of children.
Assistant Director

Eloisa Torres

I'm the assistant director and owner of Los Amiguitos. I try to be as patient and loving, caring and understanding and above all empathetic in my daily interactions with those I love and those around me. I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, writing, volunteering, and exploring the outdoors with my family and friends. When my daughter Sandra was born in 2014, I worked and volunteered at an in-home daycare. I learned how to be a role model to the children I was interacting with on a daily basis. They were learning from me as I was learning from them. That's when I realized this was where I wanted to start my career. I've had three jobs my whole life. I received my CDA (Child Development Associate) on April 25th 2018. I want to help and teach children how to be a better role model for the future. I've always believed that having a healthy, nurturing, and safe environment allows children to experience education that meets their needs. I always strive to be a positive influence and a healthy role model in every child's lives.

I like working at Los Amiguitos because I feel inspired when I work with the children. Being able to teach them and help them grow in different ways brings joy to me. My hobbies are playing music, I know how to play the bass, and guitar. I also play soccer. I have been playing since I was 5 years old and played in the World Youth Cup 2024 in Sweden. I also love traveling, I have been to Paris, Rome, Sweden, and Italy and hope to travel to more new places.

I love working with children and making them feel that they are being cared for with love and patience. I love teaching them new things that make them grow and feel more independent in so many ways as they get older. Also seeing how they progressively learn during the years. I love spending time with my family and friends.

I love to make little people feel, they matter. In so many ways, offering learning experiences in motor skills, learning ABC and colors in different ways. To have an exciting and positive attitude, seeing what children learn in our classroom and in our world. My hobbies outside of work are being with my grandchildren and my family. Enjoying life.
